Raise money with Connectors

You introduce someone you know. I do the rest.

Connectors is a simple way for a club, group or well-connected local person to introduce households to me. I check whether UW could help with their bills, explain everything properly and look after the appointment. You don’t need to sell anything or become a UW Partner.

I grew up in Cumbria, where local clubs matter and people help each other out. That’s why I like the Connector idea: it gives a club or group another possible way to raise money, while the household gets a proper look at its bills. This short film shows a real example of how it can work.

What is a Connector?

A Connector is simply the person or organisation that makes the introduction. It could be a football club, community group, charity, coach, treasurer, local business or just someone who knows plenty of people. You tell people what it’s about and, if they’re happy to have a chat, you put them in touch with me.

From there, I contact the household, look through the bills with them and explain their options. There’s no pressure on them to change anything, and you don’t have to learn tariffs, attend the appointment or chase anybody.

A Connector can receive up to £150 when someone they introduce signs up with UW. The amount depends on which services the new customer takes and how many they choose.

Who could it work for?

The obvious one is a club or group that is always looking for sensible ways to raise extra money. Instead of selling raffle tickets or asking the same people for donations again, you can offer members and supporters the chance to have their household bills checked.

It can also work for a coach, organiser, business owner or well-connected person who is comfortable making an introduction but doesn’t want to do customer appointments, complete Partner training or build a team.

Connector or Partner — what’s the difference?

Connector

You recommend me. I do the work.

A Connector’s job is simply to name-drop UW, recommend me and point an interested person in my direction. I contact them, put the quote together, explain the services and look after the sign-up.

When that person becomes a customer, the Connector receives half of the commission I would normally receive, up to £150 depending on which services they take. There are no customer appointments, quotes or team-building for the Connector to do.

UW Partner

You build your own UW business.

A Partner speaks to customers, prepares the quotes and helps people sign up themselves. They can also find and support other Partners, build a team and create something that can grow beyond a single introduction.

There is more work involved, but there is also much more available: customer commission, the opportunity to build residual income, work towards Free Energy, qualify for incentives and holidays, and earn from a growing team. Those benefits depend on the work you put in and the relevant UW programme rules.

What happens after you register?

First, we have a quick chat so I can explain how the Connector process works and answer your questions. When somebody is interested, you make the introduction with their permission. I contact them, ask for a recent energy bill if they have one, and do the same straightforward, no-pressure review I’d do for anybody else.
